Places to Eat in Windsor
Windsor is packed with the best restaurants. Some really great meals are cooked every evening in Windsor.
Here are just some of the great places to eat in Windsor. We have picked restaurants within a few minutes walk of the town centre.
The River House
By the river, a little way downstream from Eton Bridge, this is a
great spot in summer to sit and eat and drink and watch the world
go by. Very friendly and cmpetent staff and a decent wine list.
The Two Brewers
A great traditional old pub, now serving excellent bistro style meals. The atmosphere in the Brewers is wonderful. The place looks like it hasn't substantially changed since the late 1700s.
The Wren Hotel on the Bridge - good afternoon teas,
Castle Hotel - good afternoon teas.
The Mango Lounge
This is not your average curry house. Quite simply the most excellent curries I have ever tasted come out of the kitchens of this cool, modern restaurant. They have won many awards recently and all are deserved. I really cannot begin to praise it highly enough.
Not cheap, but worth every penny. Our particular favourites are their amazing seafood dishes.
The Drury House
Windsor's oldest restaurant and former home of Nell Gwynne, Mistress
to King Charles II.
La Taverna - authentic Italian - high quality
Viceroy- great quality curry. For currys there are plenty of places to eat in Windsor, but the Viceroy deserves a mention because they are consistently good. A great choice for a mid week meal that won't break the budget.
Latinos is a Greek taverna right behind the Guildhall in the heart of Windsor
The Harte and Garter anglo-french cuisine and sophisticated interiors.
Stroks restaurant - upmarket attached to the Christopher Wren hotel on the bridge, with a private riverside terrace offering one of the nicest places to eat in Windsor on sunny days
